Emergency (formerly voucher program) for Medicaid Patients

If your Medicaid or Green Mountain Care dental benefits are exhausted (or nearly used up) for the current calendar year, you can usually still receive emergency dental treatment.

You no longer need to obtain a voucher for emergency treatment!

If you are having pain or infection, you generally will qualify.

Only certain dental procedures are covered. Most commonly:

  • *Extraction (removal) of a tooth (or multiple teeth)
  • Emergency examination and associated x-ray
  • Temporary filling
  • Pulpotomy or Pulpectomy (removal of the nerve of the tooth to relieve pain and stabilize it, usually prior to a future root canal procedure)
